The Dodge City Law Announce Coaching Addition for the 2017 Season
Head Coach Sean Ponder has made a big addition to his coaching staff for the 2017 season by signing Heron O’Neal as Asst. Head Coach & Director of Player Personnel.
Coach Ponder said, “This is a huge addition to our already great coaching staff, anytime you can add a coach like Heron to your staff with his experience and resume of success only makes you better. I have known Coach O for a long time and to get to coach together is something that I look forward to. His resume for success speaks for itself.”
Coach O’Neal has been a part of the indoor football game since the early 2000’s, first as a player where he played for the Milwaukee Mustangs (2000-2001), the Mohegan Wolves (2002), Green Bay Blizzard (2003), and then started his coaching career in 2005 as the Defensive Coordinator for the Wyoming Cavalry. From 2006 – 2010 Coach O’Neal was the Head Coach of the Billings Outlaws, where he led the team to 3 national championships. In 2014 he was named IFL Coach of the Year.
A native of Chicago, he played at Mt. Carmel and received a full-ride scholarship to Western Michigan University, he Red-Shirted in 1993 and was a 4-year starter. In 1998 Coach O went to the NFL Combine and signed as a free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. Then signed as a free agent in 1998 with the Chicago Bears.
The Dodge City Law are proud members of the Champions Indoor Football League, currently the largest professional indoor football league in the United States with 16 members.
